Introduction

From September 28th to October 1st 2005, the ECCB 05 and the jbi 05 take place in Madrid Spain. The “Bioinformatics National Institute” (INB) will host the Conference.

An interactive event in which professionals from the bioinformatic sector can exchange ideas and experiences. The ECCB conference conference and Jbi/05 is a great opportunity to fulfill these goals, and we hope to count with the endorsement of our European colleagues for the consolidation of our activities in bioinformatics.

Furthermore, it will be an excellent opportunity, for those attending the conference, to foster relations between bioinformatics, biotechnology and bio-pharmaceutics companies and other agents involved in this sector at an international level, who attend to the congress.

This fourth Congress and Sixth Session will cover the top subject matters in bioinformatics, such as databases, protein structure and function, genes and genomes, microarrays, phylogenetics, SNPs, Systems Biology, Algorithms, etc… and will be organized in two new types of sessions:

  • Sessions of face-to-face presentations by keynote speakers.

  • A session bringing together experimental and computational biologists who have successfully collaborated in a specific biological problem.

Issues such as ‘How complete is the knowledge of the genome sequence?’, will be discussed, as well as some other topics related to perspectives in bioinformatics.

In addition, this will be an intensive and creative event with a complete program consisting of papers, tutorials, software demos and exhibitions, all of which will be of particular interest to those professionals who work in bioinformatics and the bio-pharmaceutic industry. The whole will take place in the cosmopolitan and entertaining Spanish capital, Madrid.

This is the perfect chance to introduce yourself in this market and make contacts. Conference sponsorship is available through corporate sponsorship packages and participation in the 2005 ECCB.
