Dr. Birney's original background
is in Biochemistry, moving later on to Bioinformatics. He received
his PhD at the Sanger Institute.
Currently is a Senior Scientist at EMBL working at the EBI and
the head of the EBI side of the Ensembl project.
He works in many genome projects (in particular Human, Mouse
and Chicken), and is an active member in the Bioperl project.
He previously have worked with the PFAM project. |
