Dr. Durbin is head of the Informatics
Division at the Sanger Institute, which provides systems and
software support for our sequencing and mapping operations,
as well as groups working on sequence analysis and annotation.
Personally he is involved in the C.elegans and human sequencing
projects, the WormBase model organism database for C. elegans,
the ACEDB genome database, the Pfam database of protein domain
families, and the Ensembl resource for vertebrate genome annotation.
Some of his interests in theoretical aspects of sequence analysis
are covered in a book on "Biological Sequence Analysis"
written with Sean Eddy, Anders Krogh and Graeme Mitchison. |
